The Creative Centre was established in 2011 when a group of people acquired the building that formerly housed the village’s Fish Factory. The group funded a non-profit co-operative which owns the building and manages the daily operations and business of the Centre.
The Creative Centre is an ongoing collaborative and community project and our actions and aims are based on sustainable principles and alternative methods.
The Centre runs an all year around Art Residency (for most creative fields) for artists who seek new inspiration and want to focus on their work in a peaceful and quiet environment.
The Creative Centre offers many different workshops and facilities where small initiative individuals can thrive and enjoy their work
The Fish Factory – Creative Centre is situated by the old harbour in Stodvarfjordur, roughly 70 metres below Route 1 (The Ring Road). The address is Bankastraeti 1.
